Anchored Negroni

Anchored Negroni

Simple to remember and effortless to make—just stir together equal parts gin, Campari (a classic Italian aperitif with bold bitter orange notes), and sweet vermouth. Strain into a glass over ice, or serve with a single large ice cube for a slow, smooth chill. This iconic cocktail is the perfect pre-dinner drink, designed to awaken your palate.

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz Anchored Spirits American Gin
  • 1 oz Campari
  • 1 oz sweet vermouth
  • Ice
  • Orange peel, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Fill a mixing glass with ice and add the gin, Campari, and sweet vermouth.
  2. Stir well until chilled, about 30 seconds.
  3. Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice or a single large ice cube.
  4. Garnish with an orange peel, expressing its oils over the drink before dropping it in.

Variations:

  • Negroni Bianco: Substitute Campari with a bitter bianco aperitivo and sweet vermouth with dry vermouth; garnish with a grapefruit twist.
  • Boulevardier: Swap the gin for bourbon or rye whiskey for a richer, warmer profile.
  • Sbagliato: Replace gin with prosecco for a lighter, bubbly alternative.

Looking for a refreshing twist? Try the Negroni Bianco by swapping Campari for a bitter bianco aperitivo and sweet vermouth for dry vermouth. Finish it off with a grapefruit twist for a bright, citrusy touch.

Enjoy this timeless aperitif that perfectly balances bitterness, sweetness, and botanical depth.
